Wire Wrap Jewelry

Growing up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California gave me an appreciation and love for nature at an early age. I have always been fascinated with rocks, large and small – from those I lay on to warm my body after a swim in the river as a child, to the very small colorful ones found on top of the ground as I walk.

My parents became rock hounds in the early 70s and spent the next 35 years hunting for, and collecting those many special treasures left by nature. I found I not only enjoyed the story behind “the find”, but also the stories the rocks tell from within. It is the surprise within the very ordinary looking rock that hooks me.

My parents instructed me on cutting and polishing these semi-precious gemstones and exposing the inner beauty in the best way possible, giving another level of appreciation for these beautiful rocks. The simplicity in wire wrapping allows the stone to be shown in a way that does not distract from its natural beauty.

When I moved to Chiloquin 6 years ago, I had no idea that I would find playing with rocks to be so stimulating and fun.
