Acrylic landscapes
I grew up in California, but have lived in Oregon since 1969, first in the Portland area and then in Klamath Falls since 1988. I started painting after I retired in 2002. I chose acrylics because I like the look and the ease of use. Over the years my family did a lot of backpacking and the photos we took during those trips form the basis of the landscapes I love to paint. I also paint pictures of places I visit in Oregon such as Crater Lake. I like to paint pictures of Klamath Lake as well.
I studied English Literature in college and graduated from San Francisco State College in 1969. I worked in the medical field for many years and gained a real appreciation for life and health and I count myself lucky to be in good health and enjoy an active life which includes teaching skiing during the winter months which I spend in Eden, Utah.
I am inspired by the beauty and quietness of nature and the wonder of the written word. I love to read and spend many happy hours that way.
I plan to continue painting for the joy it brings me.
